Humble beginnings

Golden Chicken first began operating in 1986 in Hervey Bay, Queensland. By increasing demand and success we have expanded to include stores in  Gladstone. Our stores are proudly locally owned and operated, supporting a range of local businesses and community groups. We offer eat in or takeaway options at all of our store locations, giving you control and choice over your dining experience. Our menus contain your Aussie favourites, including BBQ chicken meals, chicken fillet burgers, chicken rolls and a range of sides and accompaniments for your enjoyment.

Our Food

Our BBQ chickens are delivered fresh, seasoned and barbequed according to our own perfected secret recipe. Our chickens are unmarinated and rotisserie cooked for a healthy option as well as being hormone free. The delicious garlic sauce you find on your burgers and in packs is available for individual purchase in our Hervey Bay and Gladstone stores. It’s our own special recipe – a distinctive sauce that’s helped make us famous! The seasonings you love on our chips is made from our own crafted blend of ingredients while the salads are prepared fresh on site with quality produce. Our nuggets are made from real breast meat; tender on the inside with a nice crunch on the skin. Our burgers contain real skinless chicken breast fillets – no compromising on quality here!
